Shopify Store Launch Checklist: 20 Things to Check Before You Go Live
The pre-launch checklist I use when setting up Shopify stores from scratch: domain, payments, shipping, policies, SEO, tracking, and email.
Foundations
Connect your domain, enable HTTPS, set your store currency and markets, and remove the password page only when every step below is done.
Payments, shipping, and taxes
Test a real order with Shopify Payments or your gateway, confirm shipping zones and rates, and check tax settings for every country you sell to.
Policies and trust
Publish refund, shipping, privacy, and terms pages, link them in the footer, and add a contact page with a real email address.
SEO basics
Write unique titles and meta descriptions for the homepage, collections, and top products. Add descriptive alt text to every product image and submit your sitemap to Google Search Console.
Tracking and email
Install the Meta pixel and Google tag, verify purchase events fire, and set up a Klaviyo welcome flow and abandoned cart flow before the first ad goes live.
